Saudi Arabia Rises to Third in Global Tourism Rankings With 61% Growth

Saudi Arabia has reached third place in global tourism rankings according to the latest UN Tourism report. The Kingdom experienced a 61% increase in international arrivals during the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2019, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In 2023, Saudi Arabia also saw a significant rise in inbound tourist spending, climbing 15 places in global rankings to secure 12th place. This development cements its status as one of the fastest-growing tourism economies, surpassing many nations in attracting high-spending visitors.

The Kingdom's upward trajectory is further demonstrated by its leadership among G20 nations in international tourist arrival growth for the first seven months of 2024 compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019.

With the Ministry of Tourism spearheading a number of initiatives to appeal to global audiences, Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in infrastructure, revitalized cultural and historical landmarks, and introduced new attractions.
