Saudi Export Development Authority Launches Saudi Crafts in Riyadh
This year’s Made in Saudi exhibition has allocated dedicated spaces to showcase artisans’ products, highlight national craftsmanship skills, and connect artisans with supporting entities.
The Saudi Export Development Authority, through the Made in Saudi programme and in collaboration with the Heritage Commission, launched the Saudi Crafts brand as a sub-brand under the national Saudi Made umbrella at the third Made in Saudi exhibition at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Malham, running from December 15th to 17th. The launch coincides with the Year of Handicrafts, aligning the brand with a national focus on craft industries.
The brand builds on its initial unveiling during Saudi International Handicrafts Week, also known as Banan, in November. As outlined by the organisers, Saudi Crafts aims to present Saudi handicrafts in a contemporary manner that highlights creativity, authenticity, and quality, with the objective of enhancing competitiveness in local and global markets under the Saudi Made label.
This year’s Made in Saudi exhibition has allocated dedicated spaces to showcase artisans’ products, highlight national craftsmanship skills, and connect artisans with supporting entities and potential buyers. These spaces are intended to expand commercial opportunities and reinforce the role of handicrafts as part of the Kingdom’s cultural and economic identity within the national industrial ecosystem.
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to support male and female artisans by strengthening the market presence of their products and aligning them within a broader national branding framework. Activities at the exhibition form part of wider efforts to develop the handicrafts sector and increase visibility for Saudi-made craft products at home and abroad.
