Screens Set Up Across Giza to Broadcast Grand Egyptian Museum Opening
Locations selected for the screens include Mustafa Mahmoud Square (Agouza), El Galaa Square (Dokki), major thoroughfares near Cairo University, and several sites across Imbaba, Badrashin and Kerdasa.
Ahead of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) opening on November 1st, 2025, authorities in Giza have installed massive outdoor screens in public squares and along major streets to broadcast the ceremony live to residents. The move aims to include citizens in the event, enabling near-front-row access to the opening within their own communities. Locations selected for the screens include Mustafa Mahmoud Square (Agouza), El Galaa Square (Dokki), major thoroughfares near Cairo University, and several sites across Imbaba, Badrashin and Kerdasa. The initiative complements broader preparations around the museum precinct — including road-upgrades, lighting, and decorative installations — as part of efforts to present the area in a manner befitting the new cultural landmark.
