‘Seeking Haven for Mr Rambo’ Selected for Red Sea Intl. Film Festival
Earlier this year, the Egyptian film became the first to be screened at Venice Film Festival in 12 years.
Acclaimed Egyptian film ‘Seeking Haven for Mr Rambo’ has been selected for the Feature Film Competition at the fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, taking place in Jeddah Al Balad from December 5th to the 14th.
‘Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo’ is directed by Khaled Mansour, and is his first feature narrative film after having directed a number of short films. The movie stars Essam Omar, Rakin Saad, Sama Ibrahim and Ahmed Bahaa, the co-founder of the popular Egyptian band Sharmoofers. The film follows a young man as he confronts the fears of his past, and goes on a journey to save his dog - and best friend - from an unknown fate.
Earlier this year, the Egyptian film became the first to be screened at Venice Film Festival in 12 years. ‘Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo’ has already received the Visual Identity and DCP Services Award for a post-production project at the 5th Amman Film Industry Days. It has further received a number of production grants including the Red Sea Film Fund, Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, and Fonds Image de la Francophonie grant.
