Sharjah Allows Remote Work for Mothers in Government
The Sharjah Department of Human Resources said the policy is part of flexible work plans approved by higher authorities while maintaining productivity and service continuity.
Sharjah has introduced a remote working policy for mothers employed in the government sector, allowing eligible staff to work from home as part of efforts to support work-life balance and family stability. The policy applies to working mothers with children enrolled in schools or nurseries, enabling them to carry out their duties remotely where their roles allow. According to the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, the framework follows approval by higher authorities to implement flexible working arrangements across government entities, with exceptions for positions deemed essential or operationally critical that require on-site presence. The initiative is designed to ease daily pressures on working mothers while maintaining productivity and ensuring continuity of government services. Implementation will be determined by individual government entities based on operational needs and service requirements.
