After years of COVID-19 restrictions, African Development Bank (AfDB) will soon resume their in-person annual meetings starting 2023, where they’ve chosen Egypt to host these continental talks in Sharm El Sheikh.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony for the 57th annual meeting in Accra, Ghana, where they also introduced the new executive bureau of the Board of Governors. Governor Tarek Amer - Egypt's Central Bank Governor and the new Chairman of the Board of Governors Bank Group - is set to lead the influential meeting.
The AfDB revised their projections for Egypt’s GDP in 2022 upwards by 1%, in spite of the global economic hurdles faced by many nations this year.
