Siren System Will Be Tested in Riyadh, Tabuk & Makkah on November 3rd

The General Directorate of Civil Defense will conduct a test of the fixed siren system in the regions of Riyadh, Tabuk and Makkah on November 3rd, 2025.

Sirens will sound in the governorates of Diriyah, Al Kharj and Al Dilam in the Riyadh region, across the governorates of the Tabuk region, and in the governorates of Jeddah and Thuwal in the Makkah region. The test is intended to raise community awareness and to ensure the efficiency and readiness of warning systems to alert residents in emergency situations.

In parallel, the National Early Warning Platform will conduct tests across all regions of the Kingdom through the cellular broadcast service. Warning messages will be sent to mobile phones accompanied by a distinctive audio tone, including a new behaviour tone and the national alert tone, in conjunction with the fixed siren test in the selected regions.

The exercise combines fixed siren activation in specified locations with a nationwide mobile alert to check that warning channels operate as designed. Messages sent via the National Early Warning Platform will be delivered to devices across the Kingdom.
