The Suez Canal Authority has announced a 47% increase in the Suez Canal’s monthly revenue in January 2023, compared to January 2022. This marks the highest monthly revenue in the history of the Suez Canal at USD 802 million.

Reports indicate that the increase was driven by a record monthly passage of petroleum tankers, numbering 677 ships. The passage of bulk carriers and vehicle carriers also increased by 17.1% and 16.3% respectively, reflecting the Authority's success in gaining the trust of the maritime community, attracting new shipping lines, and dealing flexibly with clients.
