Taiba Road to Open for Tourist Buses Between Hurghada & Luxor

Taiba Road, which connects Hurghada and Luxor, is set to open for tourist buses starting Wednesday, February 26th, following a decision by the Council of Ministers.

The reopening of the road is expected to strengthen links between cultural and beach tourism, allowing easier access for visitors travelling between Luxor’s historic sites and Hurghada’s coastal resorts. The shorter travel time is anticipated to encourage more day trips from Hurghada to Luxor, potentially increasing tourist activity in Upper Egypt.

The announcement comes after discussions within the Ministerial Committee for Tourism, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. Coordination efforts included the Federation of Tourism Chambers and the Ministries of Interior, Tourism, Antiquities, and Transport.

Meetings were held with executive and security agencies in Luxor and the Red Sea governorates to ensure proper safety measures and improve the transportation experience. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to upgrade five key roads in the region, including the Hurghada-Marsa Alam, Aswan-Abu Simbel, Luxor-Aswan Western Desert, and Marsa Alam-Luxor routes.
