The World Leaders Flying to Sharm El Sheikh to Participate at COP27
90 world leaders are gathering at Sharm El Sheikh for COP27, including US President Biden and UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
The world is gathering at Sharm El Sheikh, as leaders around the globe announce their plans to personally attend the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference from November 6th to November 18th. It is there where some of the most important agreements, partnerships and alliances in the global fight against climate change will be made and affirmed, and it is there where they will have the opportunity to listen to the voices of underrepresented communities and ambitious innovators - with a special focus on those who hail from the African continent, whom Egypt represents as the host nation of this momentous conference.
Amongst the 90 world leaders who have confirmed their intentions to fly to Sharm El Sheikh are US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany. Incumbent Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, will also attend the conference alongside former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon.
The list also includes President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the next President of Brazil.
