Three New Electric Train Stations for LRT System Are Now Open in Cairo
The LRT system runs from Adly Mansour station to 10th of Ramadan City and the New Administrative Capital.
The Ministry of Transport and railway company RATP Dev Mobility Cairo have announced the launch of three new electric train stations in the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system connecting Cairo to the New Administrative Capital. The three stations - El Robeeki station near Badr City, Capital Gardens City station, and Capital International Airport station - are now fully operational. The LRT system runs for 103 kilometres between Adly Mansour station adjacent to the Cairo-Ismailia road, and reaches 10th of Ramadan City and the New Administrative Capital. The railway is hoped to reduce traffic congestion across the city while encouraging Egyptian citizens to literally hop on for an eco-friendly mode of transportation.
