Transport Ministry Partners With MEDLOG on 10th of Ramadan Dry Port
The project looks to enhance trade flow, reduces port congestion, and boosts connectivity to key industrial and urban areas.
The Ministry of Transport has signed an agreement with Swiss company MEDLOG to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the 10th of Ramadan City Dry Port and Logistics Zone.
This 250 feddan project comprises 130 acres for the dry port and 120 acres for a logistics zone, located strategically near Greater Cairo’s industrial hubs. MEDLOG, the logistics arm of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), secured the contract after surpassing four international consortiums in a global tender process.
The development is part of a national strategy to establish 32 dry ports and logistics zones, supported by seven integrated logistics corridors connecting key production areas with seaports. These corridors will facilitate smoother trade flows, reduce congestion at seaports and enhance logistics efficiency. The 10th of Ramadan project is a critical link within the integrated Sokhna to Alexandria logistics corridor, improving rail and road connectivity for industrial, agricultural and mining sectors.
The project is expected to generate jobs, streamline customs procedures, and lower transportation costs, while reducing environmental impacts. Its strategic location will serve new urban communities and connect key seaports, including Ain Sokhna, Port Said, Damietta, and Alexandria, via a dedicated road and rail network.
