UAE Opens 7.5 KM Pipeline to Get Desalinated Water From Egypt to Gaza
As part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE has launched a water pipeline to Gaza’s Al‑Buraq reservoir in Khan Younis at a time when over 80% of water facilities in Gaza have been destroyed.

A 7.5 KM pipeline carrying desalinated water from Egyptian plants into Gaza has officially opened. Built under the UAE’s Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the pipeline delivers over 2 million litres of potable water per day, with the capacity to supply more than one million people in southern Gaza, particularly in Khan Younis.
The pipeline connects to the Al‑Buraq reservoir in Khan Younis, expanding access to clean water across the region at a time when over 80% of water facilities in Gaza have been destroyed by Israeli forces.
The United Nations Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs had recently declared a famine in Gaza city, with the report warning that it could extend to Deir Al Balah and Khan Younis by next month.
This initiative builds on the UAE’s support in Gaza, which includes establishing six desalination plants, providing water tankers and reservoirs, and maintaining local wells.
