United States Gifts Egypt 1.6 Million Doses of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine
The doses have been been donated by the United States government through the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX) programme
Cairo International Airport recently received a massive shipment of 1,611,090 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which has been provided by the United States government through the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX) programme. The doses will be examined by the Egyptian Drug Authority before it is distributed to 1,100 vaccination centres across the country within the next two weeks.
This shipment is part of a 500 million dose donation from the United States to several nations of the African Union through COVAX. The United States previously donated 1.6 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to Egypt on September 30th, 2021.
