‘United in Giving’ Launched to Distribute 7 Million Meals in Ramadan
The UAE Food Bank is tackling food waste while ensuring millions get meals this Ramadan with its massive ‘United in Giving’ campaign.

The UAE Food Bank has launched a new initiative in Dubai to distribute seven million meals to people in need during Ramadan. The Food Bank introduced the ‘United in Giving’ campaign under the guidance of Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum. The initiative is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and focuses on food sustainability, reducing waste, and encouraging community involvement.
The initiative consists of three sub-programs. ‘Blessing Baskets’ is set to distribute over 200,000 meals daily, sourced from food donations, parcels, and surplus meals. ‘Zabeel Iftar’ will provide meals for over 3,000 workers. ‘Surplus of Good’ will educate the public on repurposing excess food through multilingual content featuring chefs, volunteers, and various cultural perspectives.
The UAE Food Bank was established in 2017 as a non-profit dedicated to collecting, storing, and distributing excess food to those in need.
