Women Have Now Taken Over 30% of Leadership Positions in Research

Women now occupy over 30% of leadership roles in research centres and institutions, according to a report that has been submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The report was written by Dr. Sherine Mohamed Abdel Qader, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute, during a workshop titled 'Balance in the Life of Women Leaders'. Part of a larger initiative to develop the capabilities of Egyptian women in research, the workshop strived to push women forwards and help them maximize their chances of obtaining state awards, patents and grants, as well as reach senior positions in research institutions.
