You Can Soon Renew Your National ID Entirely Through a Machine

Issuing a National ID is about to be as easy and quick as buying a can of soda from a vending machine. At least, that’s what we hope, after the Civil Status Authority integrated a new artificial intelligence system that will allow Egyptian citizens to issue and renew personal identification paperwork, including national IDs, birth certificates, and family records through an automated machine and pay the allocated fee on the spot.

The project is now fully operational in Abasseya’s Civil Registry until 9 PM, and will soon expand across Egypt as part of the Civil Status Department’s ongoing digital transformation.
