Zayed Higher Organisation Launches Mawj Early Intervention Centre
The initiative targets children up to age eight with integrated healthcare and development programmes.
The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination has launched the ‘Mawj’ Early Intervention Centre in Abu Dhabi to provide early diagnosis, rehabilitation and family support for children from birth to eight years. The centre operates an integrated model that combines healthcare, rehabilitation and social support, with a focus on monitoring children’s development against age-specific milestones.
Services include early screening, psychological support and family counselling, alongside programmes designed to support parents and caregivers in actively participating in children’s development. The initiative also includes training sessions and workshops for professionals working in early childhood development, based on international practices, as well as awareness programmes aimed at encouraging early detection and timely intervention.
The centre was launched in partnership with the National Academy for Childhood Development and Royal NMC Esteco Limited, bringing services together under a unified system. Officials said the initiative is designed to support children with developmental delays, reduce developmental gaps and improve long-term outcomes for families.
