This Damietta Food Joint is Serving Smashed Burgers in Baladi Bread
No, this isn’t hawawshi.
Smashed burgers usually come tucked inside soft buns… but Buck’s Smash in New Damietta is switching things up by serving them in baladi bread instead. The burger spot, an extension of Buck’s fried chicken joint, is taking the classic smashed patty, thin, flat, and crispy around the edges, topped with melty cheese, and giving it a very local twist.
And before you say it, no, it’s not hawawshi, even if it feels suspiciously close. This is still your classic smashed burger, just in a different vehicle. Buck’s Smash keeps things simple with single or double patties, letting the crispy beef and cheese do the talking. Which raises the real question: if smashed patties work well in baladi bread… what’s next? Smashed burgers in sourdough?
These burgers are available at Buck’s Smash, Savana Hub, New Damietta City.
