Kalam Aflam Brings Emerging Saudi Cinema to Paris for One Night Only
The cultural association holds a special pop-up edition to celebrate emerging Saudi filmmakers at Point Ephémère.
Kalam Aflam - a France-based cultural association that showcases “emerging artists from the Mashreq to the Maghreb” - is bringing contemporary Saudi cinema to Paris in a special pop-up for its ciné-club. For one night only, on February 12th, 2026, a curated selection of short films by young Saudi filmmakers will be screened at Point Ephémère, on the banks of the Seine.
The event takes place days after the end of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, catching those still in town. The evening will offer viewers an intimate look at personal stories that reflect youth in Saudi Arabia today. The program includes three films produced during the 48H Film Challenge - an annual event in which competing teams write, shoot, and edit a short film within 48 hours. These include 'Wajoom' by Maan Alsiari, 'Mubham' by Muhannad Alzahrani and 'Next Time' by Khaled Kaseb, presented with their respective directors.
Also featured are acclaimed Saudi shorts that have made waves on the international festival circuit, including 'Mera, Mera, Mera' by Khaled Zidan, 'The Last Dismissal' by Jowaher Alamri and 'Saleeg' by Afnan Bawyan. The evening will conclude with a Q&A with participating filmmakers and a DJ set.
The event is free and open to the public.
