Ala Khutah Project Launched to Trace Hijrah Route

Madinah Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan inaugurated the ‘Ala Khutah’ (In His Footsteps) project, an initiative that enables visitors to trace the route of the Prophet’s Hijrah within a structured and organised framework.

The project is designed to highlight the historical significance of the migration from Makkah to Madinah, promote awareness of the Prophet’s biography, and support sustainable cultural and economic development along the route.

Officials said the initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance the experience of visitors and pilgrims in the holy city by integrating elements of faith, knowledge and development. The project also seeks to showcase Islamic values including justice, mercy, tolerance and coexistence through educational and cultural components embedded within the visitor journey.

The first phase of the project is expected to accommodate around 1 million visitors, with a target of 5 million by 2030. Plans allow for potential expansion to reach up to 10 million visitors in future phases.
