Celebrity Chef Michael Mina Opens Debut Restaurant in Saudi Arabia

Egyptian-American celebrity chef Michael Mina has established his first restaurant in Saudi Arabia. Located in Bab Samhan hotel, Taleed opened its doors to Diryah this month.

With an existing award-winning chain of restaurants, one Michelin star and several James Beard awards to his name, Mina’s new restaurant offers a blend of Hejazi and Mediterranean flavours, remaining loyal to Mina Groups’ signature characteristics whilst incorporating influences from the Hijazi side of the Kingdom.

Inspired by Diriyah’s heritage, the restaurant is designed to resemble a traditional Diryan home through its rooms, nooks and terraces. Its interior incorporates features of 300 year old Najdi architecture and blends contemporary design elements with intricate Arabian details.

Although Taleed is Mina’s debut in Saudi Arabia, it's not his first restaurant in the Middle East, having opened Mina Brasserie in the Four Seasons Hotel in Dubai’s International Financial Centre in 2018.
