Your Everything, Everywhere Guide to Riyadh Season 2024

Revellers, tourists and residents of the Kingdom are in for a treat as Riyadh Season prepares to kick off its fifth edition on October 12th. Attendees this year will be treated to an extensive array of events, sports matches, musical concerts and cultural showcases.

Set to feature 14 entertainment zones, 11 global championships, and 10 exhibitions and festivals, this Season promises a greater variety of entertainment, new and chic venues, and a greater audience capacity overall. Kingdom Area

Expanded since last Riyadh Season, the Arena is now 40% bigger and able to host over 27,000 spectators.

The Arena will host four world championships including the Season’s opening ceremony, which will feature the IV Crown Showdown between Russian boxers Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, as well as a surprise concert by a yet unnamed global star.

The 2024 African Super Cup final between Zamalek and Al Ahly will take place on September 27th, while the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will take place on December 21st.

The Venue

A new venue in the Season’s roster, The Venue was built in 50 days to accommodate around 8,000 guests.

The Venue is due to host seven events, including a large tennis tournament and a major fashion show in collaboration with Elie Saab.

The Venue will also host the fifth annual Joy Awards, celebrating leaders in Arab entertainment in the company of international celebrities. Additionally, the Power Slap challenge will make its Kingdom debut here.

Boulevard World

This Season, Boulevard World expands with five new subzones: Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Africa, and the French ski resort Courchevel, bringing the total to 19 distinct areas. The expanded zone will boast 300 restaurants and cafes, alongside over 1,400 shops.

Boulevard City

Boulevard City will see a 70% surge in activities and events. The vibrant lineup includes 12 theatrical productions and 12 concerts. Notably, American actor and comedian Martin Lawrence will headline a stand-up comedy night.

Anime and manga fans can dive into a ‘Detective Conan’ experience, while younger audiences can enjoy ‘Land of Dreams’, inspired by the ‘Bluey’ series. Gamers can look forward to PUBG Mobile and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 events, while movie score enthusiasts will have the chance to experience a live performance by acclaimed German composer Hans Zimmer.

Premier Padel P1

Following its successful debut, Premier Padel P1 returns to Riyadh Season 2024, featuring high-level padel action in collaboration with football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Padel Rush zone in Boulevard City will host the ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Padel Experience’.

Boulevard Runway

Boulevard Runway, created in partnership with Saudia Airline, transforms three Boeing 777 aircraft into unique retail spaces, dining options and interactive experiences for all ages.

Wonder Garden

The Wonder Garden has been revamped to accommodate 23,000 visitors across nearly 500,000 square metres. Highlights include over 60 theatrical and roaming shows, 65 games and experiences and more than 40 dining options.

VIA Riyadh

VIA Riyadh will unveil upgraded cinema halls, new dining venues and the esteemed Ana Arabiya installation. Additionally, a Christian Dior exhibition and museum, Dior café, gift shop, and 14 fashion-themed sections will debut.

Dunes of Arabia

A new zone, Dunes of Arabia, will cater to desert enthusiasts with activities such as sandboarding, desert driving, sand dune hiking, archery and camel riding.

Dog Festival

The Dog Festival returns, accommodating 5,000 people and 350 dogs from around the globe. The event will feature five championship competitions with top prize money, including the 9K Championship, Agility Dog Race, Dog Beauty Contest, Saluki Race and Working Dog Race.

Free Areas

For the third consecutive year, Riyadh Zoo will offer free entry, with space for 12,000 visitors. Al-Suwaidi Park, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Media, will highlight the cultures of Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Egypt, the Levant, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Souq Al-Awaleen, another free area, will celebrate Saudi identity through shopping, folk performances, handicrafts, and traditional clothing. Additionally, special days for children of martyrs and orphanages will be organised in Boulevard World and Wonder Garden.
