A total of 151 researchers from King Saud University’s College of Science have been named among the world’s top 2% of scientists in a global citation-based ranking, marking an increase of nearly 36%.
The Single-Year Impact list is compiled by Stanford University in collaboration with academic publisher Elsevier and draws on Scopus data for 2025. The methodology excludes self-citations and uses a composite citation score that takes authorship roles into account, including lead, corresponding and sole authorship, rather than relying simply on publication volume.
Researchers are classified across 20 major fields and 174 subfields using the Science-Metrix taxonomy, allowing citation impact to be assessed within individual areas of study.
