AlUla Skies Festival Lines Up Balloons, Stargazing & Cinema
Dates are set for moonless nights from November 7th to 12th with a new moon on November 9th, and the final day coincides with the Leonid meteor shower.
AlUla Skies Festival will return from November 6th to 15th, 2026, with hot air balloon flights, stargazing, outdoor cinema and wellness experiences scheduled around some of the clearest night-sky conditions of the season.
The dates include moonless nights from November 7th to 12th and the new moon on November 9th, while the final day coincides with the Leonid meteor shower, when up to 20 meteors an hour may be visible under favourable conditions.
One of the festival’s main attractions, AlUla Skyrise, will see 30 hot air balloons ascend over Hegra at sunrise, with daily flights lasting around 60 minutes and optional tethered ascents also available. Hot Air Balloon Glow Shows are scheduled at Hegra on November 6th and 7th and at Elephant Rock on November 13th and 14th, combining illuminated balloons with projections, music, fire performances and aerial acts.
Evening programming will include telescope-led stargazing at AlUla Fort, hikes beneath the stars and VOX Moonlight Cinema at Our Habitas AlUla. Sunset Stillness sessions on November 13th and 14th will add guided meditation, sound immersion and breathwork to this year’s programme. The 2026 edition moves from the April dates used in 2025 to November to align more closely with the new moon and Leonid meteor shower.
