Amina Orfi Becomes Youngest Women’s Squash World No. 1
Amina Orfi beat Hania El Hammamy in a five-game Qatar Classic final to win her first Platinum title and reach World No. 1.
At 19 years old, Egyptian squash player Amina Orfi has won the 2026 Qatar Classic after defeating compatriot Hania El Hammamy in a five-game final, securing her first Platinum-level title and becoming the youngest women’s World No. 1 in squash history.
Orfi, seeded second, defeated top seed El Hammamy 3-2 in a 107-minute match, recovering after dropping the opening game to win 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 12-10.
The result gives Orfi her first PSA Platinum title and lifts her to the top of the women’s world rankings.
The final also continued Egypt’s dominance of the women’s game, with two Egyptian players contesting the title in Doha.
