Dubai's Museum of the Future to Close in September 2026 for Revamp
New galleries will replace the existing exhibitions as part of a refresh timed to the museum's fifth anniversary.
Dubai's Museum of the Future will temporarily close in mid-September 2026 for its first major exhibition overhaul since opening, with a new programme of experiences scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2027.
According to the museum, the refresh will replace its current galleries with a completely new suite of exhibitions, coinciding with the institution's fifth anniversary. Visitors will be able to explore the existing exhibitions until the temporary closure, after which work will begin on the next phase.
The museum said the new experiences will be shaped in part by ideas and suggestions submitted by people from around the world. Further details about the upcoming exhibitions will be announced through its official channels at a later date.
Unlike traditional museums with permanent collections, the Museum of the Future was designed to regularly renew its exhibitions to reflect advances in technology, scientific research and emerging global challenges. The upcoming overhaul continues that approach by replacing the current galleries with a new generation of interactive experiences.
Since opening in February 2022, the Museum of the Future has attracted millions of visitors through exhibitions exploring subjects including artificial intelligence, space exploration, climate, health and sustainability. The new exhibitions are expected to open during the first quarter of 2027.
