Saudi Arabia Leads Global Activation of Internet Route Validation
The Kingdom recorded a 99.8% activation rate for RPKI Route Origin Validation, according to the latest APNIC measurements.
Saudi Arabia has ranked first globally in activating Resource Public Key Infrastructure Route Origin Validation, recording a 99.8% activation rate according to the latest measurements by APNIC.
The technology, commonly shortened to RPKI RoV, helps verify that internet traffic is being announced by authorised networks. By validating the origin of internet routes, it reduces the risk of traffic being misdirected to untrusted websites or online services.
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission said the result reflects wider efforts to improve the maturity, reliability and security of the Kingdom’s internet infrastructure through international technical standards and best practices.
Saudi Arabia also ranks among the top five countries globally for Internet Protocol Version 6 implementation and first among G20 countries for Domain Name System Security Extensions validation, according to the commission.
