Ahmed Eid to Host Benefit Festival for Palestine in the UK

Palestinian artist Ahmed Eid will host a fundraising festival ‘The Fringe’ in Manchester from October 24th to October 25th. All proceeds from the festival will help develop music spaces in Ramallah in the West Bank.

Organised in collaboration with Make Music Matter - a UK-based platform providing a space for artists and musicians to speak out about Israel’s atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon - and the Palestine Music Space community, ‘The Fringe’ features a two-day program of political conversations as well as live performances that celebrate Palestinian music and culture.

Taking place at community Six Trees Kitchen in Greater Manchester, the festival will feature live performances from Palestinian artists ILYF and Ahmed Eid, along with DJ sets from a roster of international acts like Mr Scruff & MC Kwasi, Felix Dickinson, Laura Jackson, Metrodome, Flash Atkins, Lil’ Minx, The Beatriarchy and Urbi.

Meanwhile, there will be a series of pop-up workshops and panels discussing censorship, resistance and ways to amplify the voices of Palestinians, featuring a slew of industry professionals and guest speakers, including Alia Alzoughbi, Artistic Director & CEO of Shubbak Festival, Ruth Daniel, Artistic Director of In Place Of War, Halima Khan, Whistleblower & Parliamentary candidate, and Khaled Ziada, Director & CEO of Marsam UK.

All proceeds from the event will go to Palestine Music Space for the development of spaces for artists and musicians in Ramallah. Tickets are available to purchase via the Tikitid website.
