Bosa Makes Comeback with Ethereal Dream-Pop Single ‘شط جديد’
A key figure in Egypt's underground electronic scene, on her latest chapter, Bosa blends sonic cues from Mazzy Star and Beach House with Arabic folklore.

Bosa, formerly known as Bosaina, has long been one of the pioneers in Egypt’s underground electronic scene since the good old days of the VENT collective. She is also best known for her shapeshifting work as a solo artist in the KIK collective and as frontwoman of electro-punk outfit Wetrobot.
Having dominated stages at major global festivals, the likes of Sonar and SXSW, the Cairo-born DJ, producer and singer is making a comeback with a dream-pop single, titled ‘شط جديد’ (A New Shore).
The track drifts in a haze of wistful energy with minimal production, built on sparse guitar riffs, crisp drum patterns and gauzy textures, that despite echoing sonic cues from global icons like Mazzy Star and Beach House, remain distinctly Bosa’s own. Lyrically, Bosa draws influences from Arabic folkloric masters like Salah Jaheen, crafting a mix between traditional poetry and modern pop sensibility. Her vocal delivery hovers between an exhale and incantation, incantation, carrying the track into something both intimate and timeless.
