Khaled Al-Kammar to Host Workshop on AI & Music Composition Feb 12-14
Taking place at Photopia in Cairo, the workshop will trace the past, present and AI futur of music making.
Egyptian composer Khaled Al-Kammar is set to host a workshop exploring the relationship between music and AI at Cairo’s creative hub Photopia, from February 12th to February 14th.
Arguably, one of the most prolific artists in the Egyptian music scene, Al-Kammar is known for scoring over 25 artworks across films and TV dramas. His composition of the soundtrack of Karim El-Shenawy’s 2019 series, ‘Qabeel’, marked his first breakthrough, securing him the Hollywood Music in Media Award. Some of his most remarkable works include scores for Egyptian hit series like ‘Al-Ekhtyar’, ‘Khali Balak Mn Zizi’, ‘Finding Ola’, and ‘Leh Laa?’.
Titled ‘Composing the Future: Music from Paper to Tape to AI’, Al-Kammar’s workshop will be split into a theoretical and practical part, tracing the past, present, and AI future of music-making, from early technological shifts to the rise of AI, and the ongoing debate between human creativity and artificial intelligence.
The workshop is open for both beginners and intermediate levels. You can now register for the workshop by filling out the form in @photopiacairo’s Instagram bio.
