Ma-Beyn Drops Jazz-Inspired Love Anthem ‘Ya Ghaly’

Palestinian-Egyptian artist Ma-Beyn releases a jazz-inspired love anthem ‘Ya Ghaly’, a preview single from her upcoming debut album.
Produced by Kubbara, ‘Ya Ghaly’ interweaves jazz-rock compositions with a melodic chop crafted by live session musicians that echoes the sensibility of classic Egyptian love songs. Throughout the 2:30-minute track, Ma-Beyn’s raw vocals are infused with a sense of urgency and sincerity that meshes into a harmonious synergy with the backdrop of incessant synths, drum patterns and warm bass undertones.
With evocative lyricism, the singer crafts unfiltered storytelling, mediating the vulnerability and imperfect nature of falling in love. While the track’s structure pays homage to the timeless love songs of Egyptian and Levantine heritage, Ma-Beyn’s tongue-in-cheek pre-chorus, ‘و بحبك أكتر من حب الانجلير لأراضي الناس’ - which translates to, ‘I love you more than the English love people’s lands’ - makes for a charming in-your-face aesthetic that is quintessentially her own.
