Marwan Pablo Experiments With Glitch Hop on New EP ‘PRJCTBLUBEAM’

Marwan Pablo enters a new experimental phase with his EP ‘PRJCTBLUBEAM’, a futuristic four-track release steeped in electronic music, exclusively produced by emerging talent Lesha. The EP showcases Pablo’s signature flows and delivery within a fresh, unconventional setting, venturing into IDM and glitch hop.

The opening track, ‘DÉJÀ VU’, features Pablo rapping over fast-paced electronic breakbeats. Like much of the EP, the track eschews a conventional structure, opting instead for free-form rapping over Lesha’s glitch-laden production. Pablo's lyrics shift away from the personal themes explored in his previous album, ‘Last Piece of Art’, to focus on themes of status, positioning himself as the "reference" in the industry.

In ‘RHLFRÉ’, Pablo collaborates with Xander Ghost, delivering a slower-paced track that contrasts with the predominantly fast rhythms of the EP. Xander’s flow is mellow and laid-back, with a charismatic delivery that complements the track's relaxed tempo.

The EP’s concept utilises the motif of the conspiracy theory ‘Project Blue Beam’, exploring themes of holograms, mind control and staged invasions. From the artwork to the track titles, Pablo integrates these futuristic concepts through his use of colour, design, and, most notably, through the EP's unconventional production and his experimentation with new flows and delivery techniques.

While the EP might diverge from what Pablo's audience expect and could polarise fans, it marks the beginning of a new era for the artist, one where experimentation takes centre stage. Having previously explored different sonic textures on his last album and particularly on the Lesha-produced single ‘Al Arba3’, Pablo reaffirms his stance as an artist who doesn’t follow trends or seek commercial appeal
