Rap of the Week | August 3 - 9

In this edition of our Rap of the Week playlist, we have the latest hip-hop releases from across the region curated and selected by the SceneNoise team. Spanning various hip-hop genres from trap hits to left-field experimental cuts, the playlist features new music by Marwan Moussa, Julmud and The Synaptik.

Starting the playlist is the latest track from phase 1 of Marwan Moussa’s new full length LP titled ‘Airplane Mode’. In this track, Marwan Moussa doesn’t veer away from his distinct sound but adds a refining touch to his signature production. The rapper incorporates spoken word snippets to enhance the record’s theme exploring the five stages of grief as he delivers his verses smoothly with ease. 

Following is a track from DJ Gawad’s latest experimental album ‘Volume 1’ featuring Palestinian underground MC Julmud. DJ Gawad creates a Memphis rap type beat that lays the foundation for Julmud’s distinct delivery and meticulous songwriting. 

The playlist also features several other new releases, including Ahmad Santa's 'Please', Synaptik and Shbash's collaboration 'Karaboya', and TooDope and Hyper's latest track 'Doma'.
