Egyptian producer, ReiRei, has released his latest two-track project, Azul, marking his debut on Berlin label, Get Physical Music, and offering a reflection of his ability to fuse electronic structures with acoustic elements, resulting in a sound that speaks to indie dance and melodic house.
The title track, ‘Azul’, focuses on a steady, rolling bassline and minimalist production. It avoids unnecessary clutter, leaning instead on kinetic movement and subtle textures to build an emotive atmosphere. It’s a track designed for the dancefloor, prioritising a consistent groove and nuanced layers over high-drama peaks.
The second cut, ‘Obscure Heart’, shifts the energy toward melodic house with visible Afro House influences. The track feels more expansive, using prominent synth leads and busier rhythms to create a sense of scale. It highlights ReiRei’s interest in blending different rhythmic traditions, pulling from his cross-cultural background to create something that works in a peak-time club setting.
