Stormy Flexes His Range With Genre-Spanning EP 'OMEGA'
The EP is a genre-blending showcase of the Moroccan rapper’s adaptability and command over varied instrumentals.
Stormy shows no signs of slowing down. The Moroccan rap sensation has been unstoppable since the start of 2024, delivering a steady stream of hits, including high-profile collaborations, his acclaimed full-length album ‘Iceberg’, and numerous singles. Now, he kicks off the new year with ‘OMEGA’, a six-track EP released without any prior rollout, accompanied by six separate music videos - one for each track. With this project, Stormy solidifies his position as a standout in the Moroccan rap scene.
‘OMEGA’ explores a diverse range of sounds, opening with the trap-heavy 'Ka3i' before moving to the experimental 'ALBATROS', which incorporates unconventional African rhythms and atmospheric production. The EP resists sticking to a single style, allowing Stormy to showcase his versatility. On 'Twins', he embraces afrobeat for a laidback, melodic performance, delivering introspective lyrics with a personal touch.
'Saka' takes a darker turn into drill, driven by dramatic violin strings layered over a hard-hitting beat. Here, Stormy comes out aggressive and unapologetic, weaving sharp bars and poignant references, including a nod to Gaza.
The EP is a genre-blending showcase of Stormy’s adaptability and command over varied instrumentals. With ‘OMEGA’, he continues to assert himself as one of the key players in a highly competitive music scene.
