Sudanese-American Artist Dua Saleh Co-Writes Travis Scott's 'My Eyes'

Dua Saleh, a Sudanese-American singer, actor, and songwriter, co-wrote ‘My Eyes’, a track on Travis Scott's latest album, ‘Utopia’. Saleh collaborated with Justin Vernon and Sampha to create one of the album's most tender tracks, which many have described as ‘Frank Ocean-inspired’.

‘My Eyes’ includes a reference to the tragic Astrofest incident in 2021, during which eight of Scott's fans lost their lives in a fatal crowd crush. In the song, Scott expresses guilt, saying, ‘I replay them nights and all I see is a sea of people that ride wit’ me. If they just knew what Scotty would do to jump off the stage and save him a child.

Beyond their contributions to songwriting, Saleh gained recognition for their groundbreaking role as 'Cal Bowman' on the popular Netflix series 'Sex Education.' Saleh has also released two EPs since 2019, titled 'Nur' and 'Rosetta.'
