Marriott Mena House Opens for a Eid Staycation by the Giza Pyramids
The iconic Marriott Mena hotel is hosting poolside afternoons, live music, and garden evenings across the Eid break.
This Eid, the iconic Marriott Mena House is opening its doors for a long-weekend staycation built around slower days, poolside afternoons, and evenings spread across its gardens and restaurants.
Originally built in 1869 for Khedive Ismail Pasha, Marriott Mena House has long occupied a strange position in Cairo: part hotel, part landmark, part relic from another era. Over the years, it has hosted royalty, diplomats, political figures, and travellers drawn in as much by its setting as the hotel itself.
Across the Eid break, guests can spend the weekend between the pool, the gardens, and the hotel’s restaurants, with live music scheduled at the 139 Pavilion on both Thursday, May 28th and Friday, May 29th.
The hotel’s dining lineup includes the long-running Indian restaurant Moghul Room alongside Alfredo’s Italian menu, while Saray Spa will remain open throughout the holiday weekend for treatments and massages.
Poolside food carts, barbecue grills, ice cream, and open green spaces will also be part of the Eid programme, leaning more into the atmosphere of a drawn-out summer afternoon than a packed city holiday.
