This Egyptian App Sends Drivers to Take You Home in Your Own Car

There’s a very specific kind of convenience that comes with having your own car: you can leave whenever you want, go wherever you want, and never have to think about how you’re getting back. The catch is that sometimes, you simply don’t want to be the one behind the wheel.

That’s where Drive For Me comes in, an Egyptian service that sends a professional driver directly to you, who then takes over your own car and drives you wherever you need to go.

The idea came from founder Noureldin Kamel’s own routine. “I wanted the comfort of having my own car with me, especially when moving between meetings around Cairo, but I didn’t always want the hassle that came with driving it,” Kamel explains.

From there, the use cases extend well beyond the working day. A night out, a wedding, a long list of errands or a trip to the North Coast can all mean wanting your own car at the destination without necessarily wanting to make the entire journey yourself.

The service is powered by Option Travel, which has operated in the transportation industry for 20 years. That distinction is central to how Drive For Me approaches its drivers. Rather than functioning as an open driver marketplace, the service draws from Option Travel’s existing transportation operation, with drivers who have been trained and tested through the company.

“So when a Drive For Me driver gets behind the wheel of a customer’s car, it’s someone who has been trained, tested, and trusted within our transportation operation,” says Kamel.

Booking is designed to be just as straightforward. Customers can request a driver through the Drive For Me app, website, phone or WhatsApp, providing their location and booking details. The driver then arrives at the specified location and takes over the customer’s car.

You don’t necessarily need another car to get home. Sometimes, you just need someone else to drive yours.
