Clique Privée Takes Egyptian Talent Back to Paris Haute Couture Week
Founded by Ahmed Azzam and Yara Eletreby, Clique Privée aims to bring the best of Egypt to the global fashion scene.
Clique Privée, an exclusive fashion initiative aimed at showcasing Egyptian craftsmanship on the global stage, returned to Paris for a second edition, this time during Paris Haute Couture Week in January. The brainchild of designers Ahmed Azzam and Yara Eletreby, founders of ZAAM and HOYE, respectively, Clique Privée offers a platform for local talents to engage with the international fashion world.
For its second edition, following its first held in September 2024, the initiative whisked off Egyptian fashion influencer Nourhan Eissa, rising actress Lina-Sophia, and Tunisian-French content creator Jihane Atypik, to the fashion capital of the world, yet they were not alone.
This edition of Clique Privée brought an even wider array of local and international names into the fold. Among the brands featured were Egyptian powerhouses like ZAAM, HOYE, Kojak, Reform, Rafik Zaki, Maison Saedi, Be Indie, and others, all represented through ensembles that spoke to the world from the heart of Paris. Whether it was on the streets or at shows, Egyptian craftsmanship was proudly on display.
“We’re growing with each trip,” Egyptian designer and Clique Privée co-founder Yara Eletreby tells SceneStyled. “Clique Privée is becoming an exclusive club that everyone wants to be part of, from local talents and brands to international names. With every trip and activation, we’re opening new doors, and we’re always ready to take a chance on what comes next.” Eletreby adds
From street shoots and front-row seats at haute couture’s most anticipated shows to private dinners and behind-the-scenes access, the experience gave participants an insider's look at the cutting edge of global fashion. “My favourite moment will always be seeing everyone in their first look, leaving the hotel, getting into the vans, and heading off to their first fashion show,” Egyptian fashion designer and Clique Privée co-founder Ahmed Azzam tells SceneStyled.
This trip included both influencers and designers, as well as Egyptian fashion students, further broadening Clique Privée’s mission to nurture talent from within the community and showcase it to the world. In collaboration with the Egyptian embassy’s Bureau Culturel, the initiative also organised ‘Cairo Couture Night,’ an event that featured both established and emerging Egyptian designers, allowing an intimate dissection of Egypt’s fashion scene.
