Noor Alazzawi's Forecast for the Fall/Winter Transition
Image director Noor Alazzawi reads the cultural weather, trading clichés for seven fits to see you through the seasonal shift.
The most interesting work in culture often happens off-brief. It’s in the styling that defines an era, the casting that feels like a revelation, the album art you can almost hear. This is Noor Alazzawi’s territory. An ‘Image Director’ by her own invention, she has built a career on the foundational work that makes everything else look better, sound sharper, and feel more true.
So, if you’ve been feeling like the cultural pulse of the region has become more vibrant, a little more authentically, in the past few years, there’s a high chance Noor Alazzawi had a hand in it. You just might not have known it…
A Sharjah girl with an Iraqi soul, she moved from the strategic realms of Design Management to the vibrant chaos of GQ Middle East, where she earned her stripes as the ‘Casting Queen.’ With a curator’s eye and a believer’s heart, she pulled faces from the underground and handed them the global spotlight, championing sounds and styles long before they became headlines. She recalls pitching the now-legendary Marwan Pablo cover, a concept met with initial scepticism. Undeterred, she pieced it together with sheer will and a few key pieces from Adidas. “That cover,” she notes, “was the most viral GQ Middle East had seen.”
But the throughline of her work, the pulse beneath the polish, is a profound sense of community. Her driving belief is simple and powerful: “everybody has a seat at the table.” Whether she’s A&R-ing a new artist, art-directing an EP for Wegz, or meticulously planning the narrative of an Instagram feed, or styling an artist for a magazine cover, she is the human algorithm linking raw talent to its visual heartbeat. She builds bridges between the artist and the brand, the idea and its audience, ensuring the story that emerges is not just beautiful, but true.
For this SELECTS, we handed the mic to image architect Noor Alazzawi to curate seven looks for the seasonal shift. A fall/winter transition that speaks her language of intuitive cool for men and women. Think lived-in denim that tells a story, a blazer that refuses to be gendered, a boot that’s seen things, and a kind of layered ease. It’s personal uniform dressing at its finest—because in Noor’s world, everybody has a seat at your style table. Consider this your invite to the main event.
