The Front Row Studios’ New Collection Studies The Business of Pleasure

Egyptian label The Front Row Studios, led by founder and creative director Malak Hany, unveils its Autumn-Winter ’24/25 collection, The Business of Pleasure, a striking ode to the complexities of modern womanhood. At its core is a woman (one that perhaps struts across the streets of urban cities) who moves through life with purpose—sharp, commanding, and unapologetically herself.

“This collection is for the powerful, busy, and sexy woman who knows what she wants,” Hany explains. “It’s about confidence, control, and embracing femininity without compromise.” With this collection, Hany reimagines the wardrobe of the contemporary professional, blending sleek tailoring with soft, luxurious textures to reflect a balance of authority and allure.

The Muse:

The collection is inspired by the effortless cool of ’90s New York. “It’s about fast-paced, minimalist, but chic energy—like throwing on a black coat in a Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy kind of way,” Hany tells Scene Styled. “The Business of Pleasure plays into the notion that a woman can be both sexy and strong. She can embrace her sensuality and still run a company.”

The Collection Dissected:

From perfectly tailored coats and structured pants to oversized chemises and satin skirts, the collection offers versatility and timeless elegance. Each piece is crafted with precise attention to fit and tailoring, allowing for a natural, effortless drape on the body. “The pieces have a certain je ne sais quoi that they bring to whoever wears them,” Hany explains.

Signature materials like satin, a Hany favourite, bring a luxurious texture and elevate the designs. This season also introduces suede and poplin, adding depth and variety to the collection. “When I design a collection, I aim to create a mini capsule wardrobe with a theme—each piece working in harmony with the others,” she says.

The Collection in Three Words:

“Powerful, sensual, and chic,” Hany describes.

The Designs Through Hany’s Eyes:

“My approach with this collection was to focus on effortless chic,” she explains. “The structured suits and coats speak for themselves before the person wearing them even does.”

Where to Wear It:

“These pieces can seamlessly transition from the office to a night out or brunch with the girls. It’s all about how you make them your own,” says Hany. She elaborates: “Wear the pantsuit or oversized suit to the office; the long black-and-gold coat or satin skirt for a night out; or the oversized white chemise and suede jacket for a casual brunch.”

How to Style It:

“The pieces are like a blank canvas,” Hany notes. “Their versatility means they can transform into something different in each customer’s wardrobe.” For styling, she suggests adding vibrant pops of colour and bold accessories. “I love pairing shades of orange, pink, or red with a black base like the long black coat,” she says. “Jewellry and shoes can completely transform a look—have fun with them!”

The Stars of the Show:

Hany highlights three standout pieces: the pinstriped suit, which can be styled in endless ways; the long black coat, a wardrobe staple with a distinctive flow; and the black coat with gold accents, which “says a lot without saying anything at all.”

In the Words of Malak Hany:

“A woman is ten times more powerful when she knows she looks good—and that’s the foundation of this entire collection.”

The Verdict:

Hany’s latest collection takes us on a journey from the sunlit charm of Barcelona and the passion of Arabic love in her earlier designs to an exploration of the powerful woman’s wardrobe. With The Business of Pleasure, Hany proves that style and strength can coexist seamlessly.
