The SceneStyled Summer Work Wear Edit For Every Role
Because your outfit should know what kind of day you're walking into.
Office dressing in summer is its own kind of sport — you're navigating AC-blasted interiors, outdoor commutes in 35-degree heat, and the constant need to look put-together without feeling like you're melting. The rules have also quietly shifted: work wear no longer means one silhouette fits all roles. A lawyer's polish is not a journalist's ease, and the marketing girlie's aesthetic is a whole different language entirely.
For this SceneStyled edit, we built four summer work looks around four different professional identities. Think structured taffeta and satin slingbacks, olive capris and a sculptural heel, leather clogs and a tomato-print bag. Each look has its own vibe, its own pace, and its own reason to get dressed in the morning.
THE LAWYER

Two pieces that understand each other completely. The Lucia top brings a draped bandeau structure softened by an asymmetric ruched overlay in semi-sheer jersey. The Balloon Pants answer in kind: lightweight taffeta gathered into pleats and cinched at the ankle, creating a billowy silhouette that reads effortlessly composed. Together, they make the kind of outfit that commands a room without announcing itself.
Pixi | The Jessica Bag
Structured enough to mean business, relaxed enough to carry everything. The Jessica is a large-format shoulder bag with clean lines, a spacious interior, and a subtle side-tie detail that keeps it from feeling purely utilitarian. Wear the adjustable strap doubled over the shoulder for a day of back-to-back meetings, or long and crossbody when you need to move.
Amina Muaddi | Holli Sling 95 in Black Satin
A 95mm signature heel, pointed toe, and black satin finish, this is the shoe equivalent of a closing argument.
Jude Benhalim | Gravity Ear Cuff
No piercing required, maximum presence delivered. The Gravity Ear Cuff wraps the natural curve of the ear in softly draped metal, anchored by a resin detail that adds depth without bulk.
THE JOURNALIST
Rota | Back to Back Top & Jackie Olive Capris
The Back to Back Top plays two sides beautifully: a clean round neckline at the front, an open draped back cut-out that reveals just enough. In a soft, fluid fabric that moves with you through a full day of field reporting and desk edits. Paired with the Jackie Olive Capris — low-rise, straight-leg, with a cargo pocket and adjustable hem ties — this is a look that keeps up with wherever the story takes you.
Maison Alaïa | Le Click East West Medium Bag
Alaïa's Le Click is the kind of bag that makes sense in every context, which is exactly what a journalist needs. The anatomical curved shape hugs the body, the hinge opening wrapped in leather gives it a tactile, considered feel, and the decorative metallic ring ties add just enough visual interest. Soft nubuck calfskin, adjustable strap, built for a day that doesn't follow a schedule.
Andrea Wazen | Carol Mule 75 in Green
Two buckles, a 75mm heel, and a pointed open toe in luxurious satin — the Carol Mule is the kind of shoe that looks like it belongs in an interview with someone interesting. Equally suited to the editorial meeting and the follow-up dinner, it brings a quiet elegance that travels well across a full day.
Karen Wazen | Tala Tortoise Sunglasses
A press badge gets you into rooms. These get you out of making eye contact you didn't want to make. The Tala frames in tortoise acetate offer 100% UV protection with a lens proportion that feels current without being trendy — wide enough to shield, refined enough to keep on indoors.
THE MARKETING GIRLIE
Zara | Embroidered Chiffon Ruffle Top & Ankle-Length Trousers
When your job is literally aesthetics, your outfit should do some talking. The embroidered chiffon ruffle top brings the detail — V-neck, adjustable straps, ruffle trim, matching embroidery — while the ankle-length trousers bring the structure: mid-waist, elasticated waistband, dart details, and a clean zip fastening. A co-ord that reads considered without trying too hard.
Bouga | Crazy Tomato Bag
This is the bag for someone who curates their own moodboard and actually follows through on it. The Crazy Tomato is Bouga's love letter to spring — bold, pattern-driven, unapologetically loud in the best possible way.
Zee | Calida-Antigua Leather Clog
A leather clog with actual soul. The Calida-Antigua is built on Zee's original Spanish natural cork footbed, which means it earns its place through comfort just as much as aesthetic. Genuine leather upper, ergonomic support that breaks in beautifully — the shoe you wear through a full day of creative reviews and still feel human at the end of it.
THE FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Double A | Jade Suede Top Blue & Jason Leather Shorts
Double A understands that creativity lives in the details. The Jade top reworks the brand's signature jacket silhouette into a sleeveless leather piece with a deep V-neck and woven trim that reads artisanal rather than precious. The Jason Leather Shorts bring the counterpoint: interlaced rope details through eyelets at the front, contrasting zigzag stitching along every edge, and a structured fit that holds its shape through a full studio day. A look that has a point of view and commits to it.
Double A | Charlie II Suede Bag in Blue
Tonal, textured, and thoughtfully made. The Charlie II is a leather shoulder bag in the same blue suede family as the look, with an adjustable strap, snap button closure, and interior pockets built for someone who actually uses their bag as a working tool. Striped leather detailing on the strap makes it feel finished.
