LA's SLS Opens Its First Saudi Resort on Shura Island
Guests can soak up the sun or unwind at Ciel Spa, take a dip in the outdoor hydro pool, catch a film under the stars at the open-air cinema.

Playful, theatrical, and unmistakably SLS—the brand is bringing its signature edge to Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea this November with the opening of SLS The Red Sea on Shura Island.
Set along a stretch of white-sand beach, the resort unfolds through 150 rooms, suites, and villas, including 15 private pool villas for those who prefer their luxury a little quieter. Between an outdoor cinema under the stars, a Ciel Spa with hydro pools, and a pool deck alive with DJ sets, SLS The Red Sea feels as much a destination as it is a stay.
Art plays a central role too—from Saudi artist Heba Ismail’s reinterpretation of the SLS duck to design touches that nod to the brand’s flair for drama and detail.
On the culinary front, SLS brings a new wave of dining to the Kingdom: London’s Seabird with its coastal Iberian flavours, Floating World inspired by the showmanship of Edo-era Japan, and Fi’lia, a tribute to Italian family cooking. Daytime coffee rituals unfold at Deluxe, while The Perch takes over poolside evenings.
Just 20 minutes from Red Sea International Airport, the resort sits close to coral reefs, a yacht marina, and the Kingdom’s first island golf course.
