Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia Will Now Need to Book Umrah Trips Via Apps

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced that all Saudi pilgrims who wish to perform Umrah rituals this year will have to reserve their appointments via the Nusuk or Tawakkalna apps.

The Director and General Lieutenant of Public Security, Mohammed Ibn Abdullah Al-Bassimi, stated that this is a part of the Ministry’s plans and preparations to manage and organise crowds and traffic during this year’s Umrah season.

He also stated that there is a sufficient number of bookings available, and insisted that pilgrims are required to adhere to their specific dates as organised by the Ministry of Hajj and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.

Additionally, the Umrah security plan includes providing humanitarian services, supporting, and empowering the entities participating in implementing the plan.

Al-Bassimi further assured that anticipated densities in public transportation stations at the entrance to Makkah, and the Third Ring Road as well as next to the Holy Mosque of Makkah were taken into account and the paths were reorganised to ensure crowd movement safety. He also stressed the importance of wearing face masks to preserve public health.

As a part of further safety measurements taken, Hammoud bin Sulieman Al-Faraj, Director-General of Civil Defense stated that the General Directorate of Civil Defense has completed its preparations in areas frequented by pilgrims and visitors to ensure fire prevention and protection.
