Saudi Arabia Launches World’s First Arabian Cruise Line
The 335-metre-long ‘AROYA Cruises’ will travel across the Arabian Gulf, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
Now that Saudi Arabia has made major (and insanely ambitious) contributions to the worlds of trains, planes and automobiles, the Kingdom has shifted its sights, setting them on a tourism sector that’s a tad more aquatic. Taking the proverbial plunge, Saudi Arabia has decided to launch the world’s first Arabian cruise line – AROYA Cruises.
With a stated goal of offering an authentic Arabian experience, AROYA Cruises aims to celebrate the cultural heritage and natural wonders of Saudi Arabia and the region. The 335-metre floating resort will feature 1,678 cabins – including balcony cabins overlooking the sea, as well as luxury suites and villas – and will be able to accommodate more than 3,362 passengers.
Across the luxury cruise liner’s 18 decks, guests will be able to attend live performances in a 1,018-seat theatre, book a maritime massage at the Blossom Spa, play a million different water games, engage in some retail therapy at AROYA’s shops, and munch on a range of international dishes.
As of now, you can book the Red Sea route for December 2024 and visit some of the region’s most famous seaside locations, including Jeddah, Ain Al Sokhna, Sharm El-Sheikh and more.
