The MENA Retreats That Made the Cut for World's '50 Best Hotels' 2024

With the conclusion of the second annual ‘World’s 50 Best Hotels’ award ceremony—which is organised by the same company behind the popular ‘50 Best’ restaurants and bars ranking—five new MENA hotels have found themselves comfortable spots on the 2024 list.

Based on answers given by 600 anonymous global voters—which included travel journalists, hoteliers, and seasoned travel specialists—these five hotels (and one honourable mention) across the MENA region made the final cut.

Atlantis The Royal – 9th Place

📍Dubai, UAE
🏅Highest Climber Award

Moving up an impressive 35 spots from last year’s ceremony, where—following a successful debut—the hotel ranked 44th on the list, Atlantis The Royal has more than earned the ‘Highest Climber’ moniker.

The Lana – 23rd Place

📍Dubai, UAE

The Dorchester Collection’s debut project in the Middle East, this 30-storey luxury hotel is right in the middle of Business Bay, offering views of the Marasi Marina, Burj Khalifa and the Dubai skyline all at once.

La Mamounia – 31st Place

📍Marrakech, Morocco

A Moroccan palace in every sense, this leading hotel and its sprawling gardens of citrus trees, olive groves and rose blossoms has been a global favourite for over 95 years.

Royal Mansour – 38th Place

📍Marrakech, Morocco
🏅Art of Hospitality Award
A private riad with Michelin-starred chefs, a world-renowned spa, and an iconic location, this Moroccan Palace has hosted some of the world’s most famed travellers, socialites and royals.

Six Senses Zighy Bay – 45th Place

📍Zighy, Oman

Located on Oman’s northern Musandam Peninsula between rugged mountains and a breathtaking beach, this lavish resort features 82 private pool villas and an award-winning Six Senses Spa.

Honorable Mention

The Peninsula Istanbul – The ‘One to Watch’

Featuring 177 rooms and suites with uninterrupted views of the Bosphorus, this Turkish newcomer is understandably the ‘One to Watch’.
