Alexandria-Matrouh Road to Be Expanded to 12 Lanes
Due to the heavy congestion on the highway during the summer, the Alexandria-Marsa Matrouh highway will receive an urgent expansion with six lanes in each direction.

Egypt will expand the north coast’s Alexandria-Marsa Matrouh highway to six lanes in each direction, stretching it to the largest width possible with a total of 12 lanes. Due to the heavy congestion on the highway during the summer, this new expansion will be implemented to help ease traffic. The decision was made through a presidential directive, and is to be applied as soon as possible.
