Alexandria’s El-Nabi Daniel Street - a 2,300 year old street known for its cosmopolitan architecture and community - will soon be renovated at EGP 103 million.
The historic street is named after the Prophet Daniel, whose name is also given to the El-Nabi Daniel Mosque located there. The Eliyahu Synagogue can also be found there, while the house of Greek poet Constantine Cavafy - which has since been turned into the museum - stands nearby.
The renovation plan is set to preserve the buildings’ original facades and colours.
