Cairo University to Establish First National Programme for Environment
The newly-inaugurated air pollution and climate change management programmes by Cairo University and the Ministry of Environment are the first of their kind in Africa and the Middle East.

Cairo University and the Ministry of Environment are teaming up to establish university programmes to teach environmental sciences through the Air Pollution and Climate Change Management Project, in cooperation with the World Bank.
The protocol comes within the framework of Cairo University’s growing attention towards multidisciplinary sciences and research programs geared towards the environment. It’s also part of Egypt’s commitment to combat air pollution in Greater Cairo.
The newly-inaugurated air pollution and climate change management programmes are the first of their kind in Africa and the Middle East. The programmes tackle the issue from many different angles to help students keep up with fundamental transformations within the labour market, and equip graduates with hyper-consciousness of the modern world around them.
